The Allegheny Ukulele Kollective has teamed up with local and regional libraries to provide an opportunity to bring music home! Beginning in the fall of 2015, libraries were given ukulele kits to be added to each library's collection. These kits can be checked out by library patrons with a valid library card!

Each library in our program has at least one librarian trained on the basics of the ukulele. This way even the most novice player can be given the basics when they check out a ukulele. Each library has at least 2 of our kits which consist of a ukulele, a gig bag, electronic tuner, and instructional book. Additional kits will be provided to libraries upon request & available funding.

Beginning in 2019, our program morphed into a fund-matching program. Each successful applicant will raise funds towards ukulele kits (approximately a $75 value) and our organization will match it dollar-for-dollar (except for shipping) through our partner, Ohana Music. If you are interested in joining our program, please send an email to alleghenyukes@gmail.com.
